Shinato Miyake will draw on the entire surface of "Blackboard Classroom" at Matsudai Nohbutai.

Shintaro Miyake

Born in 1970 in Tokyo and currently based in Tokyo. Graduated from Department of Painting, Printmaking Course at Tama Art University in 1996. The artist constracts a holistic world using diverse expressions including drawing, sculpture and performance - including "cut-out" style by cutting off drawing of a girl on cardboard or tree or presending live drawing as the artist himself puts on hand made costume. Major solo shows include "VIKING AGE" (Gerhardsen Gerner / Berlin / 2013), "There are TWO TRUTHS!" (Gerhardsen GernerBerlin / 2009), "Innocy’s House" (Museum Gugging, Art/Brut Center Gugging / Vienna / 2007), and "Beaver no Seikatsu" (Sandra and David Bakalar Gallery, Massachusetts College of Art / Boston, Massachusetts, USA 2006). Group shows include "NEOTENY JAPAN Takahashi Collections" (Kirishima Kirishima Open Air Museum / Kagoshima / 2008), "Berlin – Tokyo / Tokyo – Berlin" (Neue Nationalgalerie / Berlin / 2006), and "Naoshima Standard" (Old barber, Naoshima Kagawa / 2006). He has also presented solo exhibitions at Tomio Koyama Gallery in 2003, 2005, 2008, 2011, 2013. He received Grand-prize for his artwork, "On The Hill" at Rokko Meets Art 2014.
