Echigo-Tsumari Art Field is currently looking for new part-time staff members to join Katakuri House or Bar Echigo-Shinanogawa.

Katakuri House

Katakuri House in Akiyamago is an old wooden school building originally built in 1880 which has been transformed into an accommodation. We are looking for those who meet the following criteria.

    (450-1 Ketto, Oaza, Tsunan-town, Nakauonuma-gun, Niigata)
  • Position
    Living-in part-time staff member
    (Residence: Single room at Katakuri House will be arranged for free)

    Various work at Katakuri House including cleaning, service, cooking, and farming
  • Number of successful candidate
  • Eligibilities. You are....
    ・healthy and confident in your physical strength.
    ・passionate about making a comfortable space for visitors.
    ・enjoiyng meeting people and sharing space with others. ・a fluent in Japanese as a native speaker.
  • Tour of duty
    April to end of November 2017 (negotiable)
    (4-6 days / week)
  • Working hours
    Approximately 8 hours per day between 6am and 9pm
  • Wage
    JPY800 per hour (including meals)
    *Social insurance will be taken out.
    *Transportation cost will be covered up to JPY10,000 per month

Bar Echigo-Shinanogawa

Bar Echigo-Shinanogawa is looking for staff member who helps at the kitchen as well as serves custormers at the restaurant.

Bar Echigo-Shinanogawa is committed to pursue "grow local, eat local", serving locally grown seasonal ingridients to introduce traditional regional delicacies. Based upon "Five tastes and five ways of cooking for one bowl of soup with three dishes", a female chef creates simple but healthy and nutritious cuisine.

  • Position
    Service staff at a restaurant
  • Job description
    Assisting cooking (cooking, preparation, serving) and dish-washing, Prepration of the restaurant, Serving customers (waiting, taking order).
  • Eligibilities
    No age limit or no specific requirement in educational background. No previous experience is required but some experience in the service industry or cooking is a plus. Those who love art (contemporary art in particular) is welcomed. Must be fluent in Japanese as a native speaker and being able to operate in English is an asset.
  • Number of successful candidate
  • Terms of contract
    Probation: three months. The contract may be renewed.
    Uniform will be provided. Actual transportation fee will be covered up to JPY20,000 per month if commuting by car)
  • Duration of the contract
    From 1 April 2017 to 31 March 2018
  • Working hours
    9:30-17:00 (including 60 minutes break)(Working hours may be extended until 21:00 when serving customers dinner)
    Working hours can be negotiable.
  • Work day
    Five days per week (we welcome those who can work on Saturdays and Sundays)
    We can consider those who can only work for two to three days a week or shorter hours.
    ※ The restaurant is closed on Wednesdays.
  • Wage
    JPY760-800 per hour
